THE COVEN Arcana
The word Arcana comes from the Latin word arcanum, meaning
“secret,” “hidden,” or “mystery,” and refers to
hidden knowledge or sacred mysteries known only to the initiated.
THE COVEN Arcana is a structured and intentional guide through the history, beliefs, philosophies, and the ancient and modern practices of Witchcraft. It is designed to cultivate understanding, discipline, and personal transformation through study, reflection, and life experience. THE COVEN Arcana is not intended to tell Coveners want to think or believe, but as a resource and guide to assist Coveners to form their own eclectic practice and beliefs.
The program is divided into three progressive study programs, each corresponding to the Three Degrees within THE COVEN. As Coveners advance through the degrees, the material increases in depth, complexity, and spiritual intensity, building on the foundation of the previous, encouraging deeper exploration of magickal theory, ritual practice, ethics, and personal responsibility.
There is no time restriction for the Arcanas, allowing Coveners to study at their own pace, guiding them toward greater awareness, mastery, and connection to the sacred. This path is not merely academic, but experiential—intended to awaken insight, strengthen intuition, and foster a commitment to growth within THE COVEN.
The Three Degrees of Arcana
First Degree Arcana
First Degree Arcana is THE COVEN’s foundational program for Coveners who are newer to witchcraft, with teachings in History, Universal Energy, Ritual Power & Collective Magick.
With a focus on personal healing, grounding, protection and growth, the purpose of the First Degree Arcana is to introduce each student to an ethical practice and community, rooted in Universal Energy.
Second Degree Arcana
The Second Degree Arcana is THE COVEN’s intermediate program building on the understanding of Universal Energy, and includes teachings on Herbs, Crystals, Divination, Ancestors and more. This course strengthens the foundational teachings by expanding each Covener’s ability to sense and direct Universal Energy with greater clarity and precision. Students will learn to craft refined magick, work in harmony with the elements, and step into greater ritual responsibility.
Third Degree Arcana
The Third Degree Arcana in THE COVEN focuses on mastering Universal Energy, advanced spellcraft, and personal empowerment, all while deepening their connection to THE COVEN and the cycles of nature. This is for witches who have completed foundational and intermediate levels and are ready to craft their own magickal authority.
